Traditional Taekwondo
At Hopkinsville Martial Arts
Welcome to Hopkinsville Martial Arts (HMA), to the Choong Sil Kwan Taekwondo Federation (CTF), and to the 2000 year old tradition of Korean Taekwondo! Taekwondo is taught with the belief that everyone has the right to feel safe, and it is the fastest growing style of martial art and sport in the world.
Hopkinsville Martial Arts is the longest running martial arts school in Hopkinsville, KY. We are affiliated with the Choong Sil Kwan Tae Kwon Do Federation (CTF) which is headquartered in Arkansas. HMA believes in the core philosophy of the CTF, “Constant and Never Ending Improvement” and strives to enrich the lives of our students by providing superior Taekwondo instruction under the Choong Sil philosophy.
The Choong Sil philosophy was developed to give students a useful, goal-oriented philosophy that could help them to achieve excellence; not only in their martial art, but also in their daily lives. The CTF practices the Chang Han pattern system as well as four additional patterns developed by Grandmaster Robert Hardin to complement our teaching progression. These four “discipline” patterns are integrated with our philosophy which stresses goal setting, inspiration, development of a strong work ethic and, ultimately, achievement of one’s goals.
There are many different reasons that people choose to practice Taekwondo and whether it is for the fitness, thrill of competition, the grace of the art, or the calm found in focus, we would be happy to have you join us! Do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions.
